Transicity is a project by four undergraduates at McGill University for ARCH 564: Design For Development. This blog is a space to consolidate case studies and research on affordable and sustainable transportation design for a presentation in March 2012.

In the spirit of today’s era of social media, we have decided to make our presentation a blog on which we can continuously update and add information. Feel free to follow our blog and/or like us on Facebook.

Also, during our presentation, feel free to tweet the questions using #transicity, we will answer them after the presentation.

First we’d like to give you a sense of some transportation systems we’re working with:

These videos clearly show the stresses being placed on some transit systems and also the importance of transit and the determination of people to risk their lives to get from one place to another.

We’ll explore these issues by getting into some definitions and case studies.
